You may disconnect Amazon Alexa from your Whirlpool account within the Alexa app. Alternatively, if you change your Whirlpool account password, any connected 3rd party devices such as Amazon Alexa will no longer be authenticated and will be unable to control your account.

  1. Navigate to Menu > Skills > Your Skills.

  2. Scroll down and tap the Whirlpool skill, then Disable Skill.

    • Alexa will no longer control your Whirlpool account, regardless of it still being displayed inside the Alexa app

No. As long as your Whirlpool® Smart Appliance is connected and online in your Whirlpool account and your Alexa-enabled device is online and functioning, you can use Alexa anywhere to activate and use your Smart Appliance. Note: remote functionality will still be restricted for safety as outlined in the Use and Care guide you received with your appliance.

Smart Top Load Laundry Pair: If your appliance is currently connected and online, there will be a small blue “house icon” that will be illuminated above the connect button on the appliance console.

Alexa will not notify you that something has been completed unless you first tell Alexa to ask Whirlpool for the status. You can choose to have automatic notifications appear on your mobile device through the Whirlpool app.

Please repeat your command to Alexa after the blue activity light ring goes out. If you continue to have problems, please check your appliance’s connectivity via the Whirlpool app.

Please check your smart appliance’s Wi-Fi connection. Double check that the appliance shows as online within the Whirlpool mobile app. Please repeat your command to Alexa after the blue activity light ring goes out.

Please ensure your smart appliance is set to Remote Enable mode. See your Use & Care Guide for instructions on Remote Start & Pause. Alexa’s use of remote start and control follows the same safety restrictions as does operation via the Whirlpool mobile app.
