2 in 1 Removable Agitator

The 2 in 1 Removable Agitator lets you choose how you wash and care for your clothes by easily swapping the agitator post in or out. With two ways to wash, it is twice the washer you have at home.

Soil Level Selection

Choose the right amount of agitation for your fabrics with an option that lets you select the soil level of your load on any cycle, so you get less agitation on light loads and more on full or dirty loads.

Soaking Cycles

Smooth Impeller Option

Easily remove the 2 in 1 Removable Agitator when your load needs a little more space to move. Impeller wash action cleans by rubbing the fabrics against each other, while the design of the impeller’s surface helps drive clothes from the outer rim to the center, where the deepest cleaning happens.

Cleans loads of soiled white fabrics with the addition of bleach. An additional rinse helps to remove any remaining chlorine residue. Uses hot temperatures, fast tumbling, longer wash times and an extra-high spin speed for optimal cleaning.

Colors Cycle

Care for colored fabrics with a cycle that uses cold water to provide optimal fabric care.

Bulky/Sheets Cycle

The Bulky/Sheets Cycle takes care of bedding as well as those bulky winter jackets. The washer fills with enough water to wet down the load before the wash cycle begins, then uses a higher water level than other cycles.

Delicates Cycle

Delicates Cycle uses a slower spin speed and wash action to deliver a gentle clean.

It had started to rust so I feared it was going to shake out a leak. We had a Maytag prior that lasted 28 years. Gone are those days. This new washer was about the same price as the one from 11 years ago and I would say it is better. It's quieter and bigger with a lot of useful features The removable agitator is a nice touch. The lack of any place to put frabric softner perplexes me. We had to buy a little ball to put that in, that says not recommended for HE washes but is recommended in the washer manual. We are still using the old detergent (until its gone) ... but a lot less of it. Overall I would say my wife and I are very pleased with this washer.

As many others have said it won't fill with water and doesn't clean or rinse your clothes unless you only put in a half load or less and select deep water wash and deep water rinse which fills it half way at most. 4.5 cu ft is more like 2.5 cu ft of usable volume. Normal, auto-sensing setting might work if you are washing 2 or 3 items? Was looking forward to the removable agitator for my large hand made quilts but am scared to try them. Have added extra buckets of water during the wash cycle which helps but you can't do it during rinse since the lid locks. I have always had great luck with previous Whirlpool products but am very disappointed with this one. It may be no different than all the other water saving, energy efficient washers out there??
