The actual cleaning of the dishes is good, but my problem is with the hidden control panel. I have always had a front control panel and I was sorely disappointed to find the controls were covered with nothing more than a cheap layer of plastic that rippled within my first week of ownership. I was able to press it back to shape, but this was enough for me wo wish that I had bought a BOSCH.

We had a Whirlpool dishwasher prior to buying this one in June. We thought we should try another brand but finally realized there was no sense in that since our first Whirlpool dishwasher performed well for years. The only reason we replaced it was because we were renovating the kitchen and acquiring all new appliances so to match the other appliances we needed a new dishwasher. The other large appliances are all Whirlpool - stainless steel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PammyG from Quiet and dries well With our previous washer, we always had to leave door open after for things to dry but when we open this dishwasher, most of the things are dry (sometimes water caught in lids of plastic things). Runs much more quietly but takes much longer. I wasn't a fan of the look of the front handle but it actually looks okay. We don't love the location of cutlery. It's at the side (last one was at front). And we seem to need to take more care with placement of cutlery. But this is minor. The very top rack is interesting. Not quite sure if it's that helpful. We put lids of recyclable containers and bigger things like spatulas there. It feels like this fills up quicker than our last one. But these are all minor. Our dishes are clean. The big question is - how will it last? We have only had for a month.

I really like the top rack for utensils or other smaller items. It allows me to have so much extra space at the bottom not having to have the tray for utensils in it. Only thing I’ve noticed is that the “normal wash” says it’s 3 hours & 6 mins long and when I’ve come back into the kitchen I’ve noticed on two separate occasions that the dishwasher was showing times that were higher like 3 hours & 26 minutes.. so after a hour the time had gone up ? Not to sure what’s going on with that but the dishes do come out very clean. It’s quiet when on which is a plus.

My only complaint is the smell. When I mentioned it to the person who installed it, their opinion was that it was that”normal new dishwasher smell” that wouldn’t last long. 4months later it still smells but the machine does a good job and is so quiet that I have to check sometimes to make sure, I actually turned it on.
